Opened in 1999 as part of The Westin Sydney, Mosaic offers views of the historical former General Post Office from a contemporary setting. Bask in the sunlight during the day or enjoy the lights that illuminate the sandstone in the evening. From your elevated position, marvel at the magnificent six-storey atrium that connects the contemporary tower and former General Post Office wing.
The General Post Office (GPO) building was opened in multiple segments from 1874. Architect, James Barnet, was given the honour to create a General Post Office worthy of an emerging capital city. It has been acknowledged that it was his greatest work. The GPO was the main communication and social link during Sydney’s development and the point where all distances were measured. Now, as a central landmark of Sydney, the intricate design and architecture can be admired from your reserved table in Mosaic, an experience not to be missed.
